Ashtabula County Medical Center | ACMC Pulse | Summer 2018
THE BIRTH OF A CHILD is one of life’s most joyous moments. For one Ashtabula mom, that joy has been shared six times with caregivers at Ashtabula County Medical Center (ACMC). Moments after Ashtabula mom Melissa Sue Cameron gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in February of this year, an ACMC nurse remarked that Cameron had given birth to all six of her children at ACMC—and that ACMC OB-GYN Dan Lazarescu, MD, had been the physician for each delivery. ACMC has been a part of the births of Jordon, 12; Joshua 10; Rebecca, 9; Raegon, 6; Jaxon, 3; and Jayden, 3 months. “We were all shocked,” Cameron says. Cameron’s OB-GYN retired prior to Jordon’s birth. After two other OB-GYN physicians moved out of state, several people recommended she find a physician somewhere else. Cameron wanted to stay with ACMC. She decided that she’d become a patient of the next OB-GYN hired by the hospital. Enter Dr. Lazarescu, who came to ACMC 13 years ago and who has now been with Cameron through six pregnancies and the delivery of six healthy babies. Cameron says she knows she made the right decision in staying with ACMC and Dr. Lazarescu.
