Ashtabula County Medical Center | ACMC Pulse | Winter 2017

Michael Habowski, ACMC President and CEO OUR COMMITMENT 2018 will bring significant improvements to healthcare in Ashtabula County ONE OF MY GOALS is to make the best technology available to our providers so they can do what they do best—take care of you. The ACMC Healthcare System Board of Trustees has also kept that goal in mind. They know that their decisions make it easier for you to get the care you need right here in Ashtabula County. We also know that by keeping healthcare local, we are helping keep our local economies strong. That community relationship has been a hallmark of ACMC’s core values since we opened the doors 113 years ago. Intensive care gets even better By the middle of 2018, ACMC will have completed our infrastructure and technology upgrades for eHospital. This new Intensive Care Unit technology provides an even greater level of care for our ICU patients. You can read more about the benefits of this amazing program in the article in this edition of Pulse . I am excited because I believe this shows the true power of ACMC’s affiliation with Cleveland Clinic. eHospital will allow direct access between Cleveland Clinic ICU specialists and ACMC physicians and caregivers. Not only do ICU patients benefit from our own on-site experts, but they will now have Cleveland Clinic experts involved in their care—all while still being close to family here in Ashtabula County. The ACMC Foundation has pledged $350,000 to this valuable project. The total capital investment is $800,000. You can still support the Foundation’s campaign by donating online at acmchealth.org/foundation or by calling ACMC Foundation Executive Director Tami Netkowicz at 440-997-6605 . Renovation is ongoing at former Ashtabula Plaza Another story I want to draw your attention to is the first phase of renovations to the former Ashtabula Plaza on Lake Road. We purchased the plaza in 2015 for one reason: the tremendous growth of ACMC created a spacing crunch in The Ashtabula Clinic and in the hospital. That growth also created parking pains for our patients and visitors. When renovations to the south end of the plaza are completed in early 2018, patients will have one-stop shopping for primary care, express care and ancillary services— much like our Family Health Centers in Conneaut, Geneva and Jefferson. More experts means more access We continually look at the needs of our communities and focus our provider recruiting on filling the gaps. In this issue you’ll be introduced to three of our newest providers—each of whom brings a level of expertise that is much- needed in Ashtabula County. And we know that everyone is busier than ever, so we try to make it as easy as possible to get the care you need. That’s why we continue to add specialty clinics at our Family Health Centers so you don’t always have to come to the ACMC campus to see a specialist. A list of services available at each Family Health Center can also be found in this issue of Pulse . You have a choice where you go for medical care. At ACMC, we combine expertise, technology, quality and convenience so you can get the best care right here in Ashtabula County. Right here at ACMC. 2 ACMC Pulse • acmchealth.org
