Community Dental services coming to ACMC Health & Wellness Plaza A MAJOR FACTOR in Ashtabula County Medical Center’s decision to purchase the former Ashtabula Plaza was the desire to create better access to healthcare for everyone in Ashtabula County. Earlier this year, the new ACMC Ashtabula Family Health Center opened, creating convenient access to primary care, sports medicine, lab services, x-ray, ultrasound and walk-in Express Care. “We are dedicated to making healthcare available in our community,” says Michael Habowski, ACMC Healthcare System President and CEO. “Most of the time, as the county’s only full-service hospital, we can do that on our own. But there are services our community needs that aren’t traditionally offered by a hospital. That’s when we look to other organizations to help us meet those needs.” Enter Cleveland Dental Institute (CDI), which will soon open in the ACMC Health & Wellness Plaza. Dental care is a common need identified in ACMC’s Community Health Needs Assessment. But it isn’t a need that ACMC can meet on its own. “Cleveland Dental Institute becoming a tenant in the plaza is a perfect example of two organizations working together to benefit Ashtabula County,” says Habowski. “We are committed to excellence in patient care and service,” says David Gentile, CEO of Cleveland Dental Institute. “CDI accepts all Medicaid and PPO insurance plans because we believe insurance should not be a barrier to dental care. We offer cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, implants, dentures and braces, and we service patients age 2 and older.” Renovations are underway in the ACMC Health & Wellness Plaza, and CDI expects to open by Labor Day.
